Quartermaster Amy Tidd on a training mission in Newport, Rhode Island

Amy has been a proud resident of Brevard County since 1988.  Together with her husband of 25 years Steve, a retired Navy Veteran and school teacher, , they have raised their two children here in this beautiful county.  Her son Brendan is a student at Brevard Community College and her daughter Miranda is in her second year at Florida State University.   Amy and Steve are involved members of St. John's Evangelist Catholic Church.

After traveling around the country during a 6 year tour of duty with the US Navy, Amy graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a BA in Political Science.  She worked in Human Resources with several companies, and after moving to Brevard Amy became an instructor at BCC in the Wendi Program and was responsible for career counseling and offering job search assistance to displaced jobseekers.

Now Amy is working full time on education, transportation, clean energy alternatives and other community issues. This year she was honored for this work by being named Brevard County Woman of the Year- Military by the Brevard County Status of Women Taskforce.   Her commitment and success had gained her the respect of Florida Today, which named Amy one of the 10 people to watch in Brevard County in 2005.
